Katabasis
<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

(Descent to the underworld)<\/span><\/p>\n

The descent of the hero or heroine into underground regions is a motif that appears in a multitude of narratives that range from archaic myths to current culture, including popular tales, fables, legends and epic poems.<\/span><\/p>\n

If we accept the idea that myths and stories are poetic ways of approaching life experience, the stories that narrate trips to underground worlds would be telling us about what it means to access the unconscious terrain of our psyche.<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on stories, the use of masks, plastic expression materials and the practice of embodiment, we propose a series of listening and imaginative activation practices. These practices will allow us to investigate the hidden sources of our own creativity. <\/span><\/p>\n

This workshop is aimed at artists, creators, educators and people interested in artistic, personal or social development.<\/span>.<\/p>\n

May 18: from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (with one hour break)<\/span><\/p>\n

May 19: from 10:00 to 14:00<\/span><\/p>\n

About Carlos<\/h1>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Carlos Cegarra is a performing artist who has developed his practice over the last 20 years as an actor, creator and stage director, and facilitator of creative processes. His teaching work has led him to be part of educational projects in multiple countries as well as higher education institutions in different parts of the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Graduated in 2010 from the London International School of Performing Arts under the direction of Thomas Prattki. Since then, Carlos has continued to investigate gestural theater, theatrical play, the mask as a ritual element and as a pedagogical tool, the intersections between dance and theater as well as other avenues of study and learning through movement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, her interest is oriented towards integral processes of the body that allow the acquisition of greater creative autonomy, and the development of a performing practice where the personal, the interpersonal and the myth can meet.<\/span><\/p>\n
