Fire and Threshold

workshop description

Creative Cycle: Fire and Threshold

Creative Research Laboratory

Explore a creative journey in two modules complementary, where myth, body and imagination meet as the driving force for creativity:

Module I – FIRE (Párraga Center, Murcia)

Fire as a vital, ambivalent, and transformative element: cosmic force, ancestral myth, and driving force of the human imagination.
We will address:

  • Mythopoetic practices with myth and traditional story.

  • Body in motion to experience vital energy and creativity.

  • Mask and ritual to embody the imagination.

  • Painting, clay and intuitive drawing as ways of projecting images through matter.

    Dates: October 27, 28 and 29 | Schedule: 10:00–18:00 |

Module II – THRESHOLD (The Stable, The Old Grandchildren)

Explore the threshold as a territory of transition and transformation, between visible and invisible worlds, between what we leave behind and what is yet to come.
We will address:

  • Mythopoetic practices with myth and story.

  • Body in motion to experience transition and transformation.

  • Mask and ritual to embody what emerges from the unknown.

  • Writing, painting, drawing and clay to project images through matter.

    Dates: October 31, November 1 and 2 | Schedule: 10:00–18:00 |

Approach

Inspired by the mask and physical theatre by Jacques Lecoq, the depth psychology and the program Integral Embodiment and Performance Practice (IEPP) from the Thomas Prattki Center. A journey that integrates body, imagination, and archetypes as creative resources.

Addressed to

Creators from all artistic disciplines (theater, dance, visual arts, writing, music) and anyone interested in exploring imagination through the body and myth. No previous experience is required.

About the cycle

Each module can be completed independently, but together they comprise a complete journey of research and creation. A journey from the power of fire to the realm of the threshold, where the symbolic, the personal, and the collective meet to inspire and sustain artistic practice.

About Carlos

Carlos Cegarra He is a performing artist deeply committed to theater as a space for embodied creation, transformation, and connection. His work draws on a vision of art as a form of listening, play, and a space for the personal and the collective to meet.

As an actor, creator, stage director, and facilitator of creative processes, he has collaborated with communities and institutions in diverse contexts, always guided by a sensitive approach to the body as a source of knowledge and expression. His training in Lecoq pedagogy, as well as his journey in the approach to Comprehensive Embodiment and Performance Practice (Thomas Prattki Centre), maintain a practice that interweaves gestural theatre, mask, movement and myth as paths of creation and learning.

Her current research focuses on holistic body processes that cultivate creative autonomy and generate performance practices that intertwine the intimate, the relational, and the symbolic.
